Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-09

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") governs how you may use the Lexborn service at lexborn.app and is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service at section 4. The Service is operated by Bapusaheb Patil trading as Nuits, Y-tunnus 3584845-8 — see /imprint.

By using Lexborn you agree not to do, and not to attempt or assist anyone else in doing, any of the following.

1. No illegal content

You must not use the Service to create, request, transmit, store, or solicit content that is illegal under Finnish or EU law or under any law applicable to you. This includes, without limitation:

  • Child sexual-abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including AI-generated, drawn, or otherwise non-photographic depictions, criminalised by Finnish Penal Code (Rikoslaki) Chapter 17 §§18–18a and EU Directive 2011/93/EU. We will report CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to Finnish law enforcement immediately.
  • Terrorism-related content within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2021/784 on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online: incitement, recruitment, instruction, or threats.
  • Hate speech and incitement to hatred or violence against a group on the basis of race, skin colour, descent, national or ethnic origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability — as criminalised by Finnish Penal Code Chapter 11 §10 (Kiihottaminen kansanryhmää vastaan / agitation against a population group).
  • Content that constitutes defamation, threats, blackmail, or stalking under Finnish Penal Code Chapter 24 / Chapter 25.
  • Material that infringes intellectual-property rights, trade secrets, or rights of personality.
  • Content that violates export controls, sanctions, or anti-money-laundering law.

2. No safety-bypass attempts

You must not attempt to bypass, weaken, or work around the Service's safety controls, content filters, or rate-limits. This includes, without limitation:

  • Prompt injection — embedding instructions in user inputs, retrieved documents, transcripts, file uploads, or other content with the intent of causing the model to ignore its system prompt, reveal hidden prompts, or act outside its sanctioned scope.
  • Jailbreak prompts — multi-turn social-engineering, persona-hijacking, fictional-framing, "DAN"-style, or roleplay attacks designed to elicit content the Service is configured to refuse.
  • Encoding tricks — base64, leetspeak, language-switching, or steganographic encodings used to smuggle disallowed content past the safety filter.
  • Tooling abuse — coercing the AI partner into performing tasks outside language-learning (e.g. writing malware, performing unauthorised research, generating disallowed media).

Investigating Lexborn's safety behaviour responsibly under our security-disclosure address (hi@lexborn.app) is welcome; production-environment red-teaming without prior written authorisation is not.

3. No automation, scraping, or sock-puppeting

You must not:

  • access the Service through automated means (bots, headless browsers, scrapers, RPA tools) except for our published, documented APIs used as documented;
  • scrape or systematically download transcripts, audio, persona data, or any other content from the Service;
  • create multiple accounts (sock-puppeting) to circumvent free-trial limits, fair-use caps, rate-limits, suspensions, or geographic restrictions;
  • pool, share, resell, or trade access credentials.

4. No reselling, white-labelling, or wrapping

The Service is licensed for personal, non-commercial language-learning use (see Terms §7.1). You must not:

  • resell access to the Service or to AI conversations generated by it;
  • white-label, re-brand, or wrap the Service or its API output as your own product;
  • use the Service to provide a competing service, or to benchmark for the purpose of building a competing service;
  • use the Service or its outputs to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI model intended for distribution.

5. No impersonation, defamation, or IP infringement

You must not use the Service for commercial impersonation, identity fraud, defamation of identifiable third parties, or the creation of content that infringes copyrights, trade marks, design rights, or rights of publicity. Practising a fictional character voice for language learning is fine; using the Service to generate synthetic media impersonating a real, identifiable person without their consent is not.

6. No harassment, doxing, or stalking

You must not use the Service to harass other users or third parties, to dox (publish private identifying information about), to threaten, to stalk, or to coordinate harassment campaigns. You must not direct the AI partner at a real, identified third party in a way that produces defamatory, sexually explicit, or threatening content about that person.

7. No mass synthetic-media abuse

The Service is a language-learning tool, not a synthetic-media factory. You must not use it for commercial-grade mass production of AI audio or text outside language learning, including without limitation: voice-cloning content for advertising or political campaigning, mass-personalised phishing or social-engineering scripts, disinformation campaigns, or election-related synthetic media.

8. No abuse of other users or staff

You must treat any human you interact with through the Service (including support staff, moderators, and the founder) with civility. Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory communications towards staff are grounds for immediate termination.

9. Enforcement ladder

We aim to enforce the AUP proportionately. Our standard ladder is:

  1. Warning — for first-time, low-severity issues, we email you, point at the relevant clause, and ask you to stop.
  2. Rate-limit or feature-restrict — for repeated low-severity issues or first-time medium-severity issues, we may impose temporary rate-limits, disable specific features, or quarantine an account pending review.
  3. Suspension — for serious or repeated breaches, we suspend access pending investigation. We will tell you why where this is lawful.
  4. Termination — for material breaches or repeated suspensions, we terminate the account in line with Terms §9. Pre-paid time may be forfeited where the breach is material.

For egregious breaches — CSAM, terrorism, credible threats of violence, repeated safety-filter bypass attempts, automated abuse at scale, or any conduct that exposes us or our users to imminent legal or security risk — we may skip earlier steps and proceed directly to suspension or termination, and we may report you to law enforcement and to affected sub-processors.

We log enforcement actions to defend ourselves against retaliatory or fraudulent claims.

10. Reporting abuse

If you become aware of conduct on the Service that violates this AUP, email hi@lexborn.app with the subject line "AUP report" and as much detail as you can share. For urgent safety issues (imminent harm, CSAM, credible threats), please indicate "URGENT — SAFETY" in the subject line and we will triage immediately.

For coordinated security disclosures, including findings about the safety filter, please use hi@lexborn.app with the subject "Security disclosure".
